Before the review of the Philippines by the CEDAW committee, NGOs highlight the issues, realities, and demands of indigenous and rural women, women with disabilities, women human rights defenders, LBTI women and girl children.

Before the 86h Session of CEDAW, LILAK submitted a shadow report to the committee about indigenous women human rights defenders in the Philippines and the attacks and disrimination they face as they assert and defend their rights.

CEDAW Interventions

LILAK delivered an oral intervention at the 86th session of Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) taking place at the UN Headquarters in Geneva. Judy Pasimio of LILAK delivered the statement on Land Rights.

LILAK contributed to the Development of the oral intervention on Women Human Rights Defenders to the CEDAW Committed. The intervention was then delivered by Cora Agovida of GABRIELA.
