LILAK condemns the arrest and detention of Edel Parducho.

Edel, or as he is known, Pards, is a human rights defender arrested during the peaceful protest in EDSA yesterday, February 25, 2026.

The videos taken by the media and accounts from witnesses clearly show that there was no direct assault or physical harm inflicted on the police officers. The actions of the police officers who were on duty are a clear exercise of power over human rights defenders who were simply exercising their right to peaceful assembly in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

Pards was arrested along with Three Ordeña, another protester from Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan (SPARK). Ang diwa ng EDSA ay nasa mamamayan. Itigil ang panggigipit sa mga tagapagtanggol ng karapatan.
